It is too early for residents of the Moscow region to change winter tires on cars to summer tires, says the scientific director of the Hydrometeorological Center of Russia Roman Vilfand.
He explained that the extremely warm weather now established in Moscow will not last long, then a sharp cold snap will come to the region. So, on March 15-16, the average daily temperature in the capital will be only plus 3 degrees, and on March 17 - plus 1 degree. At night it can freeze to minus 6 degrees. “What's the point of taking risks and changing tires? After all, at this temperature, the adhesion of summer tires with the road significantly worsens, Vilfand told TASS. According to him, it is necessary to wait with the change of rubber until the moment when the average daily temperature is stable above plus 5 degrees.
