AfD wins more votes in East Germany than SPD, Greens and FDP

The Social Democratic Party of Germany (SPD) received 11.3% of the vote in East Germany, the Greens – 6.8%, the Free Democratic Party of Germany (FDP) – 3.3%, the bloc of the Christian Democratic and Christian Social Unions (CDU / CSU) – 17.8%, the party “Union of Sarah Wagenknecht – For Reason and Justice” (BSW) – 10.2%. For the first time in its history, the AfD took second place, doubling the number of votes from 2021 to 19.5%. AfD advocates the abolition of anti-Russian sanctions, against the supply of weapons and missiles to Kiev, for the resumption of gas supplies from Russia. In East Germany there are lands that had close ties with the USSR. Meanwhile, the billionaire head of the US Department of Government Efficiency (Doge) Elon Musk supported the AfD on the eve of early elections to the Bundestag, which were held in Germany on February 23.
