According to the German election commission, the conservative CDU/CSU bloc won the early parliamentary elections, gaining 28.6% of the vote. The Alternative for Germany (AfD) is in second place with 20.8%. At the same time, the AfD received significantly more votes in all the territories of the former GDR than all other parties.
