The ICRC is in contact with the Azerbaijani authorities. “The Azerbaijani government has informed us of its intention to close the representative office of the International Committee of the Red Cross in Azerbaijan,” Huseynova said. The ICRC cannot provide any details of the conversation, as it is part of a bilateral and confidential dialogue. In February, the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry announced the decision to close the editorial office of Sputnik Azerbaijan and the representative office of the BBC. In the same month, the Russian House in Baku announced the suspension of its activities due to the demands of local authorities.
