Bessent: the United States will not allow countries that did not support Ukraine, to earn on it

Bessent explained that the revenues received by the government of Ukraine from natural resources and other assets are planned to be sent to a special fund for the long-term recovery of the country. In this fund, the US will have economic and governance rights, which will provide the high standards of transparency and accountability needed to attract private investment. “The terms of this agreement also ensure that countries that have not contributed to the protection of Ukraine’s sovereignty will not be able to take advantage of its restoration or these investments,” he wrote. Washington sees the move as a long-term investment that will strengthen Ukraine’s economy and ensure its future sustainability. Bessent also said that the head of the Kiev regime, Volodymyr Zelensky, himself proposed to US President Donald Trump the idea of economic partnership, including US participation in the development of Ukraine’s natural resources. During a visit to Trump Tower in September, Zelensky offered a U.S. stake in rare earths and minerals. The US will support the long-term recovery of Ukraine without imposing unfavorable conditions on it, and will not take control of its assets. Washington’s involvement will ensure transparency and high standards of governance, which will help attract private investment and accelerate the country’s recovery. Earlier, the Ukrainian edition of NV reported, citing sources, that on February 21, the Ukrainian side received from American partners an updated version of the agreement on the extraction of natural resources of Ukraine. This version was much tougher than the first, presented in Kiev Bessent a few days earlier.
