📝 Summary

Representatives of the Palestinian movement Hamas met in Cairo with the head of the Directorate of General Intelligence of Egypt Hassan Rashad. The parties discussed reaching a ceasefire agreement in the Gaza Strip.

According to Al Jazeera, the meeting was held “in a positive way”. "Many important issues were discussed in a positive manner, especially the implementation of the ceasefire agreement and the exchange of prisoners at various stages of the ceasefire," the statement said. It is noted that Hamas puts forward conditions for negotiations with Israel: the exchange of hostages and prisoners, the withdrawal of IDF troops from the Gaza Strip. The Palestinian movement also expects the Jewish state to guarantee that it “will not resume aggression.” Earlier it became known that the Israeli side intends to intensify the negotiation process. To this end, a delegation of the Jewish state will travel to the capital of Qatar on Monday, March 10. The ceasefire in the Gaza Strip operated from January 19 to March 1 inclusive. On March 2, the Israel Defense Forces resumed attacks on Gaza.
