Investigators found some of the drugs during searches of members of an organized group. In total, law enforcement officers found and seized more than 40 grams of drugs and psychotropic substances. A criminal case was initiated under several articles of the Criminal Code, including the illegal sale of psychotropic substances by an organized group using their official position and abuse of powers. The court sentenced the former head of the operational unit to 14 years in prison, his subordinate to 12 years. They are also deprived of special ranks and the right to hold positions in law enforcement agencies for three years.
