Employees of the operational department of the FSIN received information that one of the convicts was involved in a series of murders in Moscow and the Moscow region, which were committed more than 20 years ago and were considered unsolved. During the operational-search activities, it was possible to establish the identity of the person involved in these crimes. He was a resident of the capital who was sentenced for life. Law enforcement officers gathered information proving that the suspect killed 12 women and 1 man from 2000 to 2004 in the specified region. Later, the maniac confessed to the incriminated crimes. We are talking about 45-year-old Vladimir Mirgorod, who was sentenced to life in January 2012. He killed 15 women and one minor between 2002 and 2004. As established by the investigation, the maniac found victims in deserted places, came into contact with them, and then strangled. Some murders were also accompanied by rape.
