In the Volgograd region is the district forum under the leadership of Maria Lviv-Belova

In Volgograd, the Technical University hosts a forum "Family First: An Effective System for the Prevention of Social Orphanhood" led by Maria Lvova-Belova. The press service of the regional administration reported that the event brought together about 500 specialists from the subjects of the Southern Federal District, including new territories. The event is held within the framework of the All-Russian Inspectorate of the Presidential Commissioner for Children’s Rights, whose main task is to assess the work on the prevention of social orphanhood in the regions, to ensure the exchange of practices. “In nine months, our team has covered 62 regions. On the example of the SFD, we see that from July 2024 to January 2025, the number of children in hospitals decreased by 16.6%. In the Volgograd region, under the leadership of Andrey Bocharov, a new, energetic team has been formed, interested in transformations, including in the prevention of social orphanhood. I am sure that another impetus to this work will give the district forum “Family in first place”, – said Maria Lviv. In the region for 2024, the number of orphans and children left without parental care decreased by 4.7%. The number of mothers and fathers deprived or restricted in parental rights has been reduced by 16% to the level of 2023. Addressing the forum participants, Maria Lvova-Belova noted that the changes in the system are aimed at solving the main task – eliminating the situation when children continue to be in special institutions without reason. Deputy Governor Larisa Savina stressed that the event will be a serious incentive to determine new vectors of work with such families.
