A man wanted in Russia was detained by police in the province of Kocaeli, located in western Turkey.
According to the IHA agency, the 37-year-old suspect in armed robbery was detained on February 25. The man was wanted by Interpol. The detainee was handed over to the migration department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Turkey to begin the extradition procedure to Russia, Habertürk TV channel added. In early February, the official representative of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia Irina Volk reported on another extradition from Turkey to Russia, a citizen of one of the CIS countries wanted through Interpol channels, accused of murder and robbery.
