Ankara has extradited a Russian citizen who was put on the international wanted list on charges of embezzling 53 million rubles on forged documents. This was reported by TASS official representative of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation Irina Volk.

According to Volk, on March 7, at the airport of the Turkish city of Istanbul, local law enforcement officers handed over to the employees of the NCB Interpol of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation a Russian who was on the international wanted list. “The man is accused of fraud on an especially large scale,” she added. According to her, from 2016 to 2017, the attacker, actually managing the activities of commercial organizations, produced and then submitted to the Federal Treasury Department for the Khabarovsk Territory forged documents. “As a result of fraudulent actions, more than 53 million rubles were stolen,” the ministry said. In February 2019, a criminal case was opened on this fact under Part 4 of Article 159 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation, the accused was put on the international wanted list. In early 2025, the man was detained abroad.
