Massive student protests in Serbian Belgrade gather 31,000 people

According to the agency, about 31,000 people took to the streets. No gross violations have been reported. Law enforcement officers detained two participants in the procession for violating public order. There were also many damaged tractors. Their wheels were pierced, hoses cut, doors torn off, cabs and windows smashed, one tractor overturned, another pushed into the street. The rally is dedicated to the tragedy that occurred in November 2024, when 15 people died in the collapse of a visor at the railway station in Novi Sad. After that, mass student protests began in Novi Sad, Belgrade, Kragujevac and other cities. Protesters demand the publication of all documents on the reconstruction of the station, release from prosecution all previously detained at the protests, as well as call for criminal responsibility of officials involved in the tragedy.
