The state Duma in the first reading adopted a bill on the protection of the Russian language. The state language is the basis of national identity. Therefore, attention is paid to the preservation of the Russian language at the state level. Why it is important to protect the Russian language, said Candidate of Philological Sciences, Associate Professor of the Department of Russian Language and Literature, Director of the Institute of Culture and Art of the Semenov-Tyan-Shansky LSPU Anna Roschupkina. The law protects the Russian language from excessive borrowing. Is this a serious problem, does the Russian language really need protection? Do we have a lot of words in our lives? - Yes, language needs protection. This is the state language, the language of the nation, so excessive borrowing will not be good. But we cannot say that borrowing has a negative effect, because there are words that have been mastered by the Russian language for a long time.
