As reported. in the press service of the house, the total amount of sales at the auction amounted to 250 million rubles. The works of such famous artists as Ivan Aivazovsky, Karl Bryullov, Kuzma Petrov-Vodkin, Ilya Repin and others were exhibited. So the painting “Christ in the crown of thorns” by Petrov-Vodkin sold for 30 million rubles, and “Coast of Nice” by Aivazovsky – for six million. Earlier it became known that the bachelor "Bohemians" (then still unknown author) was purchased in 2003 at Sotheby's auction for 50 thousand dollars. When the painting came for examination in the Russian Museum, it became clear that the creator of the work of art is Vasnetsov. This was the early period of the artist’s work. The cost of the painting was estimated at 1.5 million dollars (about 125 million rubles).
