Physicist Kovalchuk: Russia will be able to ensure the operation of power plants on the moon

Kovalchuk said that the Kurchatov Institute is actively engaged in the development and modernization of plasma engines that will ensure the functions of the tug on the way to the moon and Mars. And we need another engine that can hover, which means we can accelerate, slow down, land on an asteroid, we have prototypes of these engines, we have been doing this for many decades. Now, together with the Rosatom Academy, we have a chance to do this and put energy on the moon. There are special versions of stations, Kovalchuk said. On February 20-21, the Future Technologies Forum will be held in Moscow. This year it is dedicated to new materials and chemistry. Within the framework of meetings and flash sessions, scientists discuss advanced technologies and innovative scientific developments. Earlier, Russian President Vladimir Putin supported the idea of creating a center for additive technologies at the Kurchatov Institute. It implies combining the efforts of the Institute with the RAS and Rosatom.
