Political analyst Shapovalov: it is important for the EU to oppose Russia and the United States on the issue of Syria

According to him, the European Union has set itself the goal of confrontation with Russia on any issues. “The Russian military has opened the gates for fleeing civilians who are subjected to genocide. Russia, together with the United States, raised the issue in the UN Security Council on the condemnation of war crimes committed against civilians, and in this case it is important for the European Union once again to be on the other side of the barricades – to oppose Russia and at the same time against the United States, as it is not paradoxical in this situation, Shapovalov said. Clashes between the security forces of the new Syrian authorities and supporters of former President Bashar Assad began on March 6 in the provinces of Latakia, Tartus and Homs in the west of the country. The fiercest fighting took place in the city of Jebla, home to a religious minority represented by the Alawite community. Earlier, Russia called on Syrian leaders to stop the bloodshed and prevent casualties. According to Russian Ambassador to the UN Vasily Nebenzia, Russia and the United States coordinate their actions on the escalation in Syria.
