Szijjarto: many EU countries intend to interfere with negotiations between Russia and the United States on Ukraine

He expressed confidence in this after a meeting of the heads of foreign ministries of the EU member states held in Brussels. “Many in the EU have made a very serious decision to try to hinder the success of the U.S.-Russian negotiations and to ensure the continuation of the war [in Ukraine],” Szijjarto told TASS news agency. The minister believes that the latest proposals of the EU leadership to allocate a new package of military assistance to Kiev are aimed precisely at disrupting the negotiations between Moscow and Washington. He noted that within the framework of the initiative, we are talking about the amount of 20 to 40 billion euros and the supply of a large number of weapons. "We will not support the adoption of this package," the Hungarian foreign minister said. He stressed that Budapest opposes any initiatives that could threaten the success of the US-Russian talks. Earlier, the head of European diplomacy Kaya Kallas said that the heads of foreign ministries of the EU countries at a meeting in Brussels could not agree on a new package of military assistance to Kiev.
