Putin and Myanmar will meet on Tuesday, March 4. During the talks, they will discuss prospects for developing cooperation between the two countries, as well as topical international issues. Following the negotiations, it is planned to sign intergovernmental and interdepartmental agreements. On February 22-23, the Minister of Economic Development of the Russian Federation Maxim Reshetnikov visited Myanmar. During the visit, a meeting of the intergovernmental commission on trade and economic cooperation between Russia and Myanmar was held. Reshetnikov met with Myanmar Prime Minister Min Aung Hlain. During the meeting, issues of bilateral cooperation were discussed, including the implementation of investment projects and the development of trade and economic relations. In addition, Maksim Reshetnikov and the Minister of Investment and Foreign Economic Relations of Myanmar Kang Zo signed a memorandum on cooperation in the field of investment in the Dawei Special Economic Zone. Following the meeting of the intergovernmental commission, Maxim Reshetnikov said that the agreement on visa-free travel between Russia and Myanmar is in a high degree of readiness and can be signed in March.
