In the two months of 2025, as a result of 19 leaks of personal data, more than 24 million records of Russian citizens were publicly available. This was reported in the press service of Roskomnadzor (RKN).
As specified in the department, as a result of personal data leaks, five protocols on administrative offense were drawn up. “In January-February 2025, Roskomnadzor recorded 19 facts of distribution on the Internet databases containing more than 24 million records,” the report said. From the data of the Ministry it follows that for 2024, 135 cases of leaks of personal data of Russians were recorded, more than 700 million records were publicly available. For 2023, there were 168 leaks, then 300 million records about citizens of the Russian Federation got into open access. Earlier, from the draft resolution of the Russian government it became known that the RKN will be able to automatically monitor violations in the circulation of personal data by online services and companies.
