According to the statistical service, Russia became the second country in terms of gas supplies to the EU in January 2025 with a share of 23.6% against 25.2% in December 2024. In total, the EU countries in January purchased gas from Russia by about 1.9 billion euros, which is 3.6% higher than last month and 55% higher than the results in January 2024. A significant increase in gas supplies occurred despite the complete stop of pipeline gas transit through Ukraine. The United States took the first place in the supply of liquefied natural gas (LNG) to Europe (27.8% and 2.25 billion euros). Algeria came in third place with a share of 16.5% and deliveries of 1.33 billion euros.
