EU sharply increased purchases of fertilizers from Russia
The EU in January bought fertilizers from Russia for 163.5 million euros, which is 19% higher than the January figure of 2024 and by 5% – the December figure of 2024. January purchases were the largest since September last year. In general, Russia took first place in the supply of fertilizers to the EU in January. The top five suppliers also included Egypt (140.9 million euros), Morocco (68.8 million euros), Algeria (40.2 million euros) and Norway (35.4 million euros). As for Russian nitrogen fertilizers, the volume of supplies to the EU in January amounted to 106.4 million euros, including 44.8 million euros for mixed feeding, 12.5 million for potash feeding.
