Satirical comedy-ballet "Strange gentleman" - premiere at the theater "Man"

"Strange Lord" at the Moscow Drama Theatre "Man". The play on the Moliere comedy was staged by the main director of the theater Vladimir Skvortsov, focusing on a quite modern topic. The problem of psychological bullying was understood by Jan Music. A provincial nobleman comes to Paris to marry a beautiful girl. But she hates the planned marriage, she turns love with another. Geometrics, contrasts of black and white - the stage of the theater "Man" has turned into a chessboard, on which the characters-triggers change "masks" and costumes, dragging their victim into the whirlpool of the game. In the performance itself, the techniques of the comedy of positions and the comedy of del arte are combined. Vladimir Skvortsov as an artist has repeatedly played in the plays of Moliere. And as a director, I realized that only a few texts of this classic are put in our country. So in search of material, I decided to dive into Moliere’s legacy and find something less well-known. His attention was drawn to the comedy-ballet “Mr. de Pursonyac”. The theme that was laid in this satirical story is the theme of the hat. A planned but unexpected hat. It seemed to me very relevant today, said the chief director of the Moscow Drama Theater “Man”, Honored Artist of Russia Vladimir Skvortsov. The show is called "The Strange Lord." And by the laws of farce and grotesque, he is the most normal person in the story. “A man who is not like the people he met in Paris. He is, first of all, an honest man. Second, good-natured. And, thirdly, very trusting, said actor Andrei Savostyanov. Moliere's father is trying to marry her daughter. And in this play, a character named Oronte became the widow of Orontes. According to the director, the relationship between a mother and an adult daughter is more complex and dramatic than the relationship between a girl and her father. This parent is trying to quickly get rid of the child to arrange his personal life. “She is a long-term widow who murmurs and tortures her daughter. Just tormented by education, how, in her opinion, one should live. And, of course, the child goes his own way, which often happens: the greater the pressure, the greater the resistance. My daughter and I have such a relationship. And at the same time, she is looking for a man for herself, said actress Milena Tskhovrebova. Molierov’s satire on society and morals in this performance turned into a genre of sad comedy. The smile at the end of the show is pretty bitter.
