Sochi speleologists found bone fragments in the Akhshtyr cave
Speleologists of the Sochi Geographical Society conducted exploration of two karst cavities of the Akhshtyr cave. The first to explore the Annunciation. Sochi became the first to visit it after it was discovered in 2001 during the archaeological expedition of the Institute of the History of Material Culture of the Russian Academy of Sciences. The second cave on the adjacent terrace was very small and covered with stones and soil inside, but experts were able to penetrate there.

The speleologists also found fragments of human and animal bones in the cultural layer. The age of the remains will be determined by scientists of the Zoological Institute of the Russian Academy of Sciences in St. Petersburg.
