📝 Summary

British Prime Minister Keir Starmer said that he does not want to allow a direct armed clash with Russia as a result of sending peacekeepers to Ukraine.

At the same time, the head of the British government did not comment on whether the United States authorities banned London from sharing American intelligence with Ukraine. This was previously reported by the Daily Mail, citing sources. “This is the last thing anyone wants to see,” he said, answering questions from members of the House of Commons. At the same time, Starmer stressed that he intends to continue working with the administration of US President Donald Trump on security guarantees for Kiev. Earlier in an interview with Le Figaro, French President Emmanuel Macron announced a joint plan with British Prime Minister Kir Starmer to resolve the conflict in Ukraine, which, in particular, suggests the possibility of a temporary truce. European leaders are proposing a "ceasefire in the air, at sea and on energy infrastructure" with a total cessation of hostilities for one month. After that, the second stage will begin, under which, in the case of a sustainable ceasefire, peacekeepers can be sent to Ukraine. Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov believes that the conversations of European leaders about the preparation of peacekeepers for Ukraine are the audacity and continuation of Kiev’s “instigation” for war with Russia. Plans of Western countries to deploy a peacekeeping contingent in Ukraine were not previously ruled out by the Russian Foreign Intelligence Service. Press Secretary of the President Dmitry Peskov, in turn, said that the deployment of peacekeepers is possible only with the consent of all parties to the conflict.
