From March 1, the sale of power drinks and other non-alcoholic tonic drinks to minors is prohibited in Russia. “Energy is the heaviest stimulant. Why are we banning it now to minors? The growth of cardiovascular diseases among children: heart attacks, strokes. Unfortunately, there are many fatal cases. There are children who drink energy and die, he said. For a child’s body, the harm from energy is no less than from alcohol. In the composition - an exorbitant content of sugar, in one jar eight spoons, as well as a mixture of caffeine and psychostimulants - taurine and guarana. “The child has not yet developed a fully conductive heart system. When he abuses energy drinks, then due to caffeine, the heart begins to beat very strongly and in addition to tachycardia, malignant rhythm disturbances with a pulse of 200-250 can occur. Because of this, the child may lose consciousness, explained cardiologist Yulia Moryakova. In the near future, the state Duma may discuss fines for the sale of power engineers to children. The maximum fine will be 500 thousand rubles.
