Swedish authorities to expel Russian political activist Daria Rudneva

Sweden's security police said the activist posed a threat, while Daria denied the allegations and considered them "totally unfounded." She called the decision to leave the country “very unfair.” Daria came to Sweden in 2021 under an exchange program, and in 2022, after the start of a special military operation, she became a co-founder of the Russian Anti-War Committee in Sweden. At Stockholm University, she studied mathematics and physics and wrote several research papers in these fields. The security police believed they could have military applications and benefit Russia. That is why the decision to deport her was made. The Russian Anti-War Committee in Sweden was included in the list of undesirable organizations in Russia in January 2023. Its participants were engaged in the preparation of anti-war rallies, prepared reports for the Swedish authorities on the political opposition in Russia and tried to simplify the procedure for the entry of Russian citizens into the country. The Prosecutor General’s Office of the Russian Federation said that the organization poses a threat to the foundations of the constitutional order and security of Russia.
