The suspects in the murder – a married couple – tried to hide in Petrozavodsk, but they were detained. Earlier it was reported that the “woman” in this couple, presumably, used to be a man (the LGBT movement is recognized as an extremist organization and banned in the Russian Federation), and the man killed by them is a man. At the same time, during the interrogation, the suspect speaks about the victim in the female family. According to him, a friend came to visit them, during drinking alcohol there was a conflict. The man began to beat her, and then realized that she died. The couple got scared and did what they suspected. Further on the video footage, law enforcement officers ask the woman to give her explanation. “Helped my husband take out his suitcases,” she said. Earlier, Irina Volk said that in order to hide the crime, the body of the victim was dismembered by the suspects, put in two suitcases and left on the bank of the Neva River. There they were discovered on March 1 by a St. Petersburg walrus enthusiast.
