Three defendants in the case of the terrorist attack in Crocus were going to stage a terrorist attack in Kaspiysk

From March 24 to March 27, 2024, that is, after the terrorist attack in Crocus, Soliev U.A., Ismoilov Z.A. and Gadoev Sh.N. made an improvised explosive device for committing a terrorist attack in Dagestan – on the embankment of the city of Kaspiysk, according to the documents of the case, which were read by TASS. The defendants also illegally purchased at least two Kalashnikov assault rifles, a Makarov pistol and ammunition for them, and, together with two Tajik citizens, provided weapons to four perpetrators of the terrorist attack. They were detained during a special operation in the territory of Kaspiysk and other regions of Dagestan on March 31 last year and transferred to Moscow to extend the preventive measure. In the materials of the Agency specified that the three defendants no later than November 2023 joined the group “Vilayat Khorasan”, which is a structural unit of the international terrorist group “Islamic state” (banned in Russia). The attack at the Crocus City Hall in Krasnogorsk occurred on the evening of March 22, 2024. At the hands of armed terrorists killed 145 people, including 6 children, more than 500 were injured. In the case of a terrorist attack, 10 criminal cases were connected in one proceeding, 27 persons were involved as accused, including 4 direct perpetrators. More than 1,300 different examinations have been appointed. The 17 defendants were extended until March 24. Earlier it was reported that the case of 19 perpetrators of the terrorist attack in Crocus was allocated to a separate proceeding.
