For decades, these people have been engaged not only in the preservation of historical memory, but also in the restoration of documents. Page by page, Elena Inisheva slowly but surely restores the true history of the Ural region. This case is not easy, because in the hands of a woman a real relic is a metric book, in which a hundred years ago priests carefully entered data on birth and marriage. One awkward movement and precious records can forever fade into oblivion, which is why to put them in order, a woman admits, you need not only patience and accuracy, but also special tools: a brush, flour glue and mycalent paper. It’s like a surgeon treating old wounds and healing fresh book tears. Restore each page have to manually, and after the glue is completely dry, returns the paper proper appearance heavy press. In total, the laboratory of the State Archives of the Sverdlovsk region employs 4 restorers and 2 bookbinders. On their fragile shoulders lies a great responsibility - for a year the girls put in order 20 thousand pages, which is about 140 cases. Moreover, one document can take two weeks or a year: it all depends on the state of the manuscript. The archive contains more than a million documents, including audio and video materials. Each of them contains unique information from the life of the Urals. You can meet them without leaving home. Museum staff have already begun digitizing the recordings and uploading them to the site.
