At the moment, in Russia, the share of prostheses of Russian production is 80%, as reported by the Deputy Minister of Defense of the Russian Federation and the chairperson of the "Defenders of the Fatherland" foundation Anna Tsivilieva on the TV channel "Russia 24".
According to Tsivileva, previously the majority of all components for the production of prostheses were imported. "I am pleased that our domestic manufacturers are now involved in this process. They have introduced innovative developments, entire institutes are working. Many young people, young people from technical universities are working and producing these prostheses. They are manufacturing the technologies right now. 80% are already domestic developments, and only 20% of components are purchased abroad," she said. As previously noted by the Minister of Labor and Social Protection of Russia Anton Kotyakov, in recent years prostheses manufacturers in Russia have made a big leap. According to the minister, prostheses and other technical rehabilitation devices of Russian production are not inferior to foreign counterparts.
