The company C7 Development Center, which is part of the S7 Group, has frozen the project of building a plant for the production of gas turbine engine parts in St. Petersburg. This is reported by “Vedomosti” with reference to a source familiar with the situation.
Part of the parts produced at the plant were used to service imported engines, the publication notes. The start of construction was to take place in early 2025 at the Parnassus site, which belongs to the special economic zone (SEZ) St. Petersburg. The production complex of 6100 square meters and the administrative building of 1800 square meters were to be built on a plot of about two hectares. The amount of funds invested in the project was estimated at up to 7.5 billion rubles. More than 320 jobs could be created at the plant, Vedomosti notes. The interlocutors of the publication note that all the dates have been shifted at the moment, and new dates have not been appointed. Earlier, the production of new hybrid crossovers was launched at the plant in the Lipetsk region. Deputy Prime Minister Marat Khusnullin said that recently 11.5 thousand hectares of land were withdrawn from the property of the Russian Federation to increase construction volumes.
