📝 Summary

The official representative of the Russian foreign Ministry Maria Zakharova considered shameful the fact that now in Moldova for the performance of the song “Katyusha” artists are forced to apologize.

We are talking about a scandalous episode when at the traditional music festival "Mercisor" held in the country, the orchestra from Israel Klezmer Band Moldova, who performed the famous song of the war years "Katyusha" in Hebrew, was forced to apologize for the alleged insult to the audience. According to the administration of the Philharmonic, where the festival was held, the song is "Russian propaganda." Moldavian music festival "Mercisor" has been held since 1966, when Sandu herself was not in the project. And he never knew such a shame to ban songs that became a symbol of the fight against Nazism, Zakharova wrote in her Telegram channel. According to the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, the Moldovan authorities live on the principle of “forward to the past”. Moreover, as Zakharova noted, this is the darkest past: the time of occupation by the Romanians and the Transnistria Governorate. For those who forbid Katyusha, I would like to say: people died under this song, fought for life and freedom from the brown plague. Including for the life and freedom of those who apologize today, and those who demand an apology, she said. Earlier it became known that the MFA of Moldova decided to terminate the agreement with Russia on cultural centers, and against this background, the Russian cultural center in Chisinau will be closed. As noted in the statement of the Moldovan diplomatic department, Chisinau decided to take such measures after the fall of unmanned aerial vehicles in the country, which the Moldovan authorities called allegedly Russian.
