The lawyer of the American serviceman Gordon Black, convicted in Primorsky Krai, filed a cassation appeal.
The defense asks the court to acquit Black under part 1 of Article 119 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (threat of murder), and the charge under paragraph "c" of part 2 of Article 158 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (theft committed with causing significant damage to a citizen) to reclassify as part, which provides for a milder punishment. Kirichenko’s lawyer I.V. insists on reducing the imposed punishment in accordance with mitigating circumstances established by the court, the joint press service of the courts of the region reported.
