According to him, the former head of state demanded that Georgia send volunteers to Ukraine and open a “second front”. Zurabishvili lied when she said that Georgia decided not to impose direct sanctions against Russia even before the West announced the restrictions. “Georgia has stated that it will not impose direct sanctions on February 25, 2022, when the US and the EU have already begun imposing restrictions,” Papuashvili said. His words are quoted by the newspaper "Look". Earlier this week, Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze said that the republic’s refusal to impose sanctions against Russia in 2022 was a historic and principled decision of Georgia. The accession of Tbilisi to the anti-Russian sanctions inevitably led to the economic destruction of Georgia, the politician stressed.
