The Georgian government has managed to prevent the opening of a “second military front” in Georgia against Russia, Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze said.
The prime minister told reporters that the government had done everything to preserve peace in Georgia. “We have achieved success in this fight, despite the fact that great efforts were made to open a second front in Georgia,” Kobakhidze said. He added that there were direct demands, appeals, direct coordination with the radical opposition, but the scenario of 1921 in Georgia was not repeated (in 1921, Soviet power was established in Georgia). On February 8, in an interview with Euronews, Kobazidze said that his country has clear foreign policy goals. “As for NATO integration, it is not on the agenda because of the decisions and approaches of Western countries and the general context around us,” he said.
