In Murmansk, the police detained a 19-year-old northerner suspected of drug possession.

In Murmansk, police officers, together with colleagues from the criminal investigation department and the regional department of internal affairs, identified a suspect in drug possession during operational and investigative activities in the Leninsky district. The suspect turned out to be a previously non-convicted, unemployed 19-year-old local resident, as reported by GTRK "Murmansk". According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia in the Murmansk region, during the search in the young man's apartment, four packets containing a substance of unknown origin and a vial with an unknown substance inside were found. Law enforcement officers also found various drug packaging materials. Based on operational research, it was determined that the young man had over 396 grams of marijuana in his possession. During the preliminary investigation, the suspect admitted his guilt and expressed remorse for his actions. The young man told the police that he had purchased the drugs through one of the messengers and kept them for personal use. A criminal case was initiated against the young man under Part 2 of Article 228 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (illegal acquisition, possession, transportation, manufacture, processing of narcotic drugs, psychotropic substances or their analogs, as well as illegal acquisition, possession, transportation of plants containing narcotic substances or their parts containing narcotic drugs or psychotropic substances). He faces up to three years in prison. Currently, the young man is under travel restrictions and required to behave properly.
