In the Krasnozersky district of the Novosibirsk region, a poacher who illegally killed two roe deer was caught. This was reported by the press service of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia for the region. As reported by the department, on February 22, 2025, the police received a report from a state inspector for the protection of wildlife about illegal hunting near the village of Konevo. Law enforcement officers promptly found and detained a 34-year-old resident of Novosibirsk who had no prior convictions. The man was found in possession of a hunting rifle, an axe, a knife, and two Siberian roe deer carcasses. The poacher admitted to shooting the two roe deer without the necessary permits. A criminal case was initiated against him under the article "Illegal Hunting," and the suspect is under a travel restriction. Earlier, "Vesti Novosibirsk" reported that the poacher will stand trial for the killing of a woman during a hunting trip. The incident occurred on the evening of November 23, 2024, when one of the hunters mistook a woman in the bushes for a roe deer and shot her.
