In Novosibirsk, a 38-year-old local resident was sent to a correctional settlement for insulting police officers. This was reported by the regional prosecutor's office. The court found that in July 2024, the police arrived at a call about a disturbance of public order. On the scene, they found a drunken man who began to threaten the law enforcement officers, used foul language, and applied violence to a police officer. The Soviet District Court of Novosibirsk found the 38-year-old local resident guilty under the articles "Use of violence not dangerous to life and health, threat of violence against a representative of authority" and "Public insult of a representative of authority" of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation and sentenced him to one year and seven months of imprisonment in a correctional settlement. Earlier, "Vesti Novosibirsk" reported that two local residents were being tried for extortion and threats against a police officer. Alexander Andreev and Rafael Rukhullaev threatened a woman selling a car and demanded 300,000 rubles from her.
