In Veliky Novgorod, a regional congress of farmers took place.

Participants first summed up the results of the agricultural enterprises' work in the past year. For example, our farmers showed decent results in potato cultivation - the volume of harvested produce was slightly less than the previous year. However, they managed to grow 16 thousand tons more vegetables than in 2023. As the relevant minister Viktor Vitvitsky noted, it is very important to develop seed production, implement advanced scientific developments, then the results will definitely improve. The official also called for preparing for a significant amount of work - by 2030, the region will need to increase agricultural production by a quarter. Meeting participants noted that grant support for agriculture remains quite extensive. Today, farmers were also informed about the changes that will need to be considered when applying for subsidies, but the presenters emphasized that additional consultations will be provided to those in need, as well as assistance in preparing the necessary documents. Additionally, there are new forms of support that have emerged only in 2025. During the congress, the contribution of Novgorod agricultural producers to the development of the all-Russian farmers' movement was also highlighted. Furthermore, the best employees in the agricultural sector were honored with awards, certificates of merit, and expressions of gratitude.
