According to Karnaukhov, the nature of the preparation of the planned assassination attempt indicates deep intelligence work, which in Ukraine is primarily conducted by the Center for Special Operations of the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU). The SBU does not understand the main thing that the Russian Orthodox Church, unlike the schismatic Church of Ukraine, is not afraid of death, so, of course, we were not scared. Judging by the reaction that I am now observing among the ranks of believers, friends and many hierarchs of the Russian Orthodox Church, this [the assassination attempt] mobilized our ranks, he said. Earlier it became known that the Federal Security Service (FSB) of Russia prevented a terrorist attack against the Metropolitan of Simferopol and Crimean Tikhon. The suspects in the preparation of the terrorist attack were a citizen of Russia and a citizen of Ukraine, who were recruited by the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine (GUR MOU). After the murder of the metropolitan, the men planned to leave Russia on fake passports. A criminal case has been opened.
