The American draft resolution on Ukraine, presented at the UN General Assembly, shocked representatives of the Western camp. On the air of "Russia 24" said the first Deputy permanent representative of the Russian Federation to the UN in new York Dmitry Polyansky.
He noted that the US resolution mixed all the cards with Ukrainians and their supporters. “For no reason, the United States ... proposed a draft of its counter resolution, which consisted of only three paragraphs and did not contain any invectives against Russia, which, of course, caused a shock in the Western camp, but the wind blew in the other direction, and our American colleagues here were forced to adapt to it,” Polyansky said. He recalled that the allies of Kiev managed to “push” unacceptable for Russia amendments to the American draft, and therefore Russia voted against the adoption of the resolution. The meeting of the UN General Assembly was held on February 24, 2025.
