Russia launches new hydrometeorological satellite
The satellite was launched on February 5, 2023 from the Baikonur cosmodrome on the Proton-M rocket. He joined the grouping of hydrometeorological space system "Electro" in geostationary orbit, which already includes the apparatus "Electro-L" No2 and "Electro-L" No3. Electro-L satellites are capable of surveying the Earth’s surface with a frequency of up to 15 minutes. They are used to monitor the climate, analyze the state of the waters of the seas and oceans, increase the efficiency of weather forecasts, as well as issue emergency information in the detection of emergency situations.
