In Saratov, the doctor of the Children's Clinical Hospital was charged with causing the death of a 16-year-old patient who died during surgery. Earlier, the investigation of the death of the girl took control of the Chairman of the RF IC Alexander Bastrykin.
The tragedy occurred in September 2023. The girl was admitted to the hospital for planned surgery, underwent examination and passed the necessary tests. However, on the operating table, the patient died, the doctors could not save her. In fact, a criminal case was opened. The investigation lasted more than a year, when the girl’s mother appealed to the head of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation. "According to the results of the commission forensic medical examination, the doctor's actions are in a direct cause-and-effect relationship with the ensuing consequences in the form of the patient's death," the SU IC of Russia for the Saratov region said in a statement. Law enforcement officers continue to collect and consolidate the evidence base.
