This was told by TASS chief freelance specialist of the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation on infectious diseases, Professor Vladimir Chulanov. He noted that the share of metapneumovirus in the structure of SARS for the 7th week of the year is 9 times lower compared to the same period in 2024. “At the same time, the share of influenza viruses in the structure of SARS pathogens is 17.3%, which is 3.6% higher compared to the 6th week of 2025,” he said. The specialist reminded that to prevent the disease will help to comply with standard measures of prevention of SARS. Earlier, Rospotrebnadzor denied the information of some media about mass cases of metapneumovirus. In particular, it was reported that the virus was brought to Russia from China, children are at risk. All patients have similar symptoms: high fever, which antipyretic drugs cannot cope with, chills, severe cough and shortness of breath. It was reported that metapneumovirus was allegedly recorded in Buryatia, the Altai Republic and the Sverdlovsk region. The department stressed that the situation remains stable.
