The question of whether the European Union will be able to compensate Ukraine for the reduction of military assistance from the United States, raised the Prime Minister of Estonia Kristen Michal. “The answer was death silence,” the newspaper writes. The suspension of U.S. military support “leaves a gaping gap” in support for Kiev’s allies, especially when it comes to intelligence and precision-guided weapons. On March 6, an emergency EU summit failed to approve an initiative on military assistance to Kiev for 2025. The two countries agreed to step up efforts to meet Ukraine’s defense needs and called for “prompt progress” on the initiatives.
