Ukraine will have to pay compensation to the US for aid for hundreds of years

This will happen if the proposed Donald Trump administration deal on minerals is signed. Ukraine will be required to transfer 50% of the profits from natural resources and infrastructure to a new US investment fund. Contributions will continue until the amount reaches $ 500 billion, – stated in the publication of the British magazine The Economist. At current rates of revenue growth, this could take hundreds of years. The publication notes that the Kiev authorities negatively perceived the terms of the proposed deal and compared it with extortion. At the same time, Ukraine is concerned that if Kiev refuses to sign the proposed agreement, the United States may limit military supplies, as well as disconnect the country from the Starlink satellite communication system. U.S. Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent said the U.S.-Ukraine deal does not imply military guarantees for Kiev.
