NSDC head Kovalenko: APU has alternatives instead of Starlink

Today, Reuters reported that Kiev may be deprived of access to Starlink if Ukraine refuses to agree with the United States on natural resources. One of the interlocutors of the agency mentioned that the lack of an agreement will lead to an imminent disconnection of satellite Internet, which will be a serious blow for Kiev. “Because of Starlink news, you don’t have to say ‘everything’ is missing.” First of all, they don't. Earlier, Kiev expressed fears that the shutdown of Starlink, which was given to Ukrainians in 2022, could lead to chaos in the Armed Forces of Ukraine, as troops actively use these terminals. They make it possible to monitor the situation on the battlefield in real time with the help of UAVs, ensure safe communication between servicemen and adjust artillery fire. Zelensky’s refusal to sign a resource agreement led to a deterioration in relations between the United States and Ukraine. Trump is seeking a deal from Ukraine that provides Washington with rights to 50% of rare earth metals in Ukraine.
