Vladikavkaz hosts festival-forum of young conductors of Russia dedicated to Veronica Dudarova

The branch of the Mariinsky Theatre hosts a festival-forum of young choral and symphony conductors of Russia, dedicated to the People's Artist of the Soviet Union Veronika Dudarova. The evening began with congratulations on the anniversary of the artistic director of the men’s choir of national song Olga Dzhanayeva. The program of the festival-forum includes choral music performed by the Moscow Synodal Choir. On the eve of the audience were performed compositions of the great classics – Peter Tchaikovsky, Sergei Rachmaninov, Peter Tchaikovsky, the outstanding Soviet composer Matvey Blanter, as well as modern authors Elena Chista, Anton Viskov and others. Today, the Moscow choir will be joined by the symphony orchestra and the choir of the Mariinsky Theatre branch. They will perform a cantata for the mixed choir and orchestra “John Damascene” by Sergei Taneyev and “Bogatyr’s Symphony” by Alexander Borodin. North Ossetia is the birthplace of world-famous maestros. Together with Veronika Dudarova, this is Valery Gergiev and Tugan Sokhiev. The scale of their personalities and the highest degree of talent inspire new generations of young conductors. Therefore, holding such events in the native land of virtuosos is the best way to express sincere respect. There are very few forums of choral and symphonic music in our country – once, two, three, and probably no more. And it is great that such a wonderful event takes place on a talented land, where Yevgeny Vakhtangov, maestro Valery Gergiev, and the wonderful halls of the branch of the Mariinsky Theatre, which simply force us, young musicians, even internally to gather, and to demonstrate to the beautiful public, the audience of Vladikavkaz all that we were taught in our educational institutions.
