Aeroclub called the average cost of a Schengen visa for Russians

The number of Schengen visas issued by Russians decreased by 36% in 2024, the agency notes. “The most accessible Schengen destinations for business travel are France and Switzerland, and for travel for tourist purposes are Italy, Greece and Hungary. As a rule, tourist visas were issued single-entry, in very rare cases for three to six months. When submitting documents for business purposes, single-entry visas were most often issued, but cases of issuing visas for a long period of up to two to three years were noted, the Aeroclub said. The cost of Schengen visas increased in 2024. The increase in the consular fee in June 2024 by 10 euros to 90 euros led to an increase in the cost of Schengen visas to 120-130 euros. A number of visa centers have introduced new requirements: in Spain, an extract from the pension and social insurance fund for the last ten years is required, and in Hungary, Germany, Greece and Switzerland, hotel and airfare checks are required, which makes it especially difficult for business tourists who carry out cashless payments. The visa processing period is from 15 to 45 working days, but in high season, in particular, in the Italian visa center, the process can last up to two months. The most expensive in 2024 was a five-year visa to Britain (771 pounds, 86.7 thousand rubles). The annual business visa to Saudi Arabia, which is made for five working days with a restriction of stay in the country (90 days), cost 40 thousand rubles. Meanwhile, Artur Muradyan, vice president of the Association of Tour Operators of Russia (ATOR), noted that checks of Russian visa applications have been tightened, and Russians are increasingly denied Schengen visas. Thus, the German authorities received a recommendation from the police to check in social networks messages and posts of citizens requesting Schengen visas.
