An orphanage teacher and her daughter stole 6 million rubles from orphans in Tomsk

According to the investigation, from October 2021 to July 2022, the women deceived three orphans taken by them into custody, the regional prosecutor's office said. “The employee of the orphanage, using the trust attitude of the pupils of the institution to her, invited them to her for accommodation and under various pretexts forced her to transfer the funds available in their bank accounts,” the report said. The accused forced the victims to give them 5.7 million rubles. So, a young man with a disability, the former teacher promised to buy an apartment and in the future re-register for it. The second victim gave the money, believing that he would go to rest, the third pupil mother and daughter promised to put her money at interest in the bank. None of the promises have been fulfilled. The fraudsters spent the money they received at their discretion – they closed their own debts, bought an apartment and paid for their vacation. The court sentenced the 57-year-old defendant to seven years in prison. Her daughter will go to a general regime colony for five years. Civil claims of victims were also granted.
